The role 

 

This is our most senior Development role – our Head of Dev will provide strategic direction, counsel and support the development team’s delivery of our projects, both internal and external.

 

You’ll be there to lead our software developers, supporting them in building industry-leading products using robust architectural practices and innovative software solutions that are fit for purpose.

 

It’s your job to guide our technical team in world-class development practices and technologies, ensuring our technical ideation and implementation is aligned to the overall Qrious strategic direction.  

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

 

• Effectively manage relationships with client contacts (client facing) and internal scrum teams
• Supporting our sales and business development teams in winning new work
• Work within client guidelines to produce innovative solutions
• Present work and articulate technical executions at client level
• Take briefs accurately from clients or other members of the scrum team and working with our Solutions Architect to translate these into technical requirements and roadmaps
• Continuous improvement across the department
• Train and lead, both formally and informally, members of the team in commercial and technical skills
• Monitor and mentor all of our developers
• Coaching our teams and our clients in Agile practices
• Being a Scrum Master where required, running the full production process ensuring continuous delivery practices
• Innovation, using the latest technologies
• Implementing and overseeing roadmap strategy for technology, testing, quality assurance and data in our business
• Producing accurate and detailed technical documentation
• Producing comprehensive and accurate estimates for work
• Leading our support function
• Ensuring our technical teams are testing work thoroughly against specifications and test plans to avoid errors and re-work
• Setting us up for success through technology partnerships and certifications

What we need from you:

 

Your attitude is your most important personal attribute, but we’d also like you to have a minimum 5 years relevant experience in a leadership role within technology.

You will be as comfortable attending meetings with clients as developing and scoping work with internal teams. Your creativity and technical excellence will manifest itself in a wide range of technologies and strategies which will help Qrious to distinguish itself from the competition and offer its’ clients a truly engaging and superior experience at every technical touchpoint.

With previous experience in line management, you will be responsible for the organisation, support and mentoring of our development team. We are looking for a commercially astute Lead who understands the practicalities of resourcing and delivering a digital project well – working alongside the Experience Design and Delivery teams to ensure work is delivered on time and to budget.

Whilst we are technologically agnostic when it comes to working with our clients, we’d like you to have working knowledge of:
